5 Easy Self Care Ideas

The start of a new year and we all want to be the best versions of ourselves on the outside. Set ourselves these big challenges that few of us stick. However I challenge you to make more time for YOU, more time spent on YOURSELF on the INSIDE.

These 5 little steps can be implemented into your daily routine. That might just lift you into positive mindset we all aim for.

Idea 1 : Write down 3 things you are grateful for each day OR say them aloud to yourself each night before you go to sleep. This will end your day thinking of the POSITIVE things letting your mind rest with happy thoughts. - There can ALWAYS be some positives.

Idea 2 : Take pride in your daily outfits.  Try and where outfits that you feel good in, be comfy and where you own style. Another idea which can be so small is add something to your outfit that you really love every day. It could be a little bracelet you love or a big cosy scarf. Something that you feel good about and that you feel comfortable in wearing. This will make you feel more positive about the day ahead.

Idea 3 : Plan a little activity to look forward too every week. This doesn't have to be a huge day out spending lots of money or travelling far. Something like planning a coffee date with a friend or setting up a movie night in the house with some snacks. A small activity that you can be excited about. This often helps me when I feel I'm not making the most of my time. Popping a date in the diary will give you a happy thought to boost your mood for the weeks.

Idea 4 : Implement a small night skin care routine, Adding a few small skin care steps before you go to sleep I feel can be SO beneficial to your mind set. I struggle the most at night with overthinking and worrying and honestly a skin care routine has really helped me. Just giving you face a cleanse and moisturise gives you hat few moments of peace in your head where you can really just wash your worries away. I know that sounds so fake but it really does. You get into bed feeling refreshed and that even if that was the only thing you did for yourself that day. You did that.

Idea 5 : Don't get to hung up on a 'Self Care' routine, You may think this contradicts my previous statements however yes I believe self care is very important. I think it can also cause a lot of pressure to have this amazing routine and stick to it every day. To show everyone your living an amazing life for yourself. But I want you to know it's okay to miss things out. Its okay if the only care you did that day was brush your teeth. Yes I encourage a healthy routine but we all miss out days. Don't beat yourself up about it, we get up and move onto the next. We've got this!

Thank you so much for ready,

Love, Alyx

Routine in Isolation

As we all know this is a really weird time to be alive - all this uncertainty is causing all of us some added stress. I am finding it myself so hard to keep in a healthy routine when I feel so restricted in what I can do. Keeping myself busy is something I always struggle with and can become really flustered if I feel I have not been productive enough on a particular day. So in this post I am going to be sharing some tips that I will be using to try and keep myself in a healthy routine. 1. Follow your class/work schedule - Yes this sounds awfully simple and one in which you are probably trying to do. But it is so important. For me in my university career I have classes and work I need to be doing daily, therefore I am trying to follow these class timetables even when I'm not on campus. For example on a Monday morning I have my nutrition class therefore at that time at home I will look over my lecturers and do my work for that class. This is so important to ensure you don't...

Top festive anxiety tips!

Its December, its now time for the festivities to begin. As much as this can be the most wonderful and happy time of year, it is also a period where many people struggle. When all the festive parties are planned and big get togethers many of us get anxious and nervous. What will I wear? Who should I speak to? Where will I sit? For me this is often something I worry about. In this blog I hope to share my hints on how to enjoy the festivities and reduce those fears: No. 1 - Get involved with the planning. Yes, this can often be a daunting thing in itself. However for me being the one organising makes me feel more at ease. I know all the information, who will be there, the dress code, what games we will play?  Therefore I can prepare a night that will feel comfortable in. No.2 - Plan your outfits in advance. I am the WORST for this, I know its silly for me to promote this but honestly it just take so much of the stress away. If you have a outfit you love and feel good in thi...
